HistoFast™ - Staining aggregated proteins in tissue sections
BioChromix HistoFast™ Staining kit, amyloid and prion, for determination the presence of aggregated misfolded protein and amyloid in cryosectioned or paraffin embedded tissue sections. HistoFast™ are for "Research and Development Use".

HistoFast™ Staining can be performed together with antibody staining, using the appropriate microscope setup, and in such be complementary to other immunohistochemistry staining procedures. HistoFast™ can give green-blue color to surrounding tissue to facilitate identification and navigation in sections.
HistoFast™ - Amyloid Staining kit
HistoFast™ amyloid staining technology provides a fast, easy, and accurate staining which is highly fluorescent and the section is then easily evaluated with a fluorescence microscope. The amyloid deposits exhibit distinct fluorescence which makes analysis easy and minimize the risk of mistakes. Read more (PDF).
HistoFast™ - Prion Staining kit
HistoFast™ kit for staining of pathogenic prion (PrPSc) deposits in histological tissue sections. Can be used as a complement to antibody immunofluorescence or immunhisto. The kit is based on the AP106p probe and will stain Prion deposits, for example Scrapie, in various tissue types. Read more (PDF).

HistoFast™ provides for highly specific amyloid staining and the amyloid deposits exhibit strong fluorescence which makes analysis easy and minimize the risk of misinterpretations. De-paraffinized or frozen tissue samples are incubated in buffer for ten minutes, followed by probe incubation for 30 minutes. After a few wash steps the samples are examined by means of fluorescence microscopy.

Patent pending: HistoFast™ is protected by US 11/579,741 including corresponding applications and additional patent pending by BioChromix.

Example: An amyloid plaque evaluated using fluorescence microscopy. Left: The amyloid deposits exhibit a strong red fluorescence (Zeiss filter set 15). Right: The amyloid plaque, clearly seen as orange/red deposits, overlaid on the surrounding tissue, exhibiting green fluorescence, to facilitate identification (Zeiss filter set 15 + filter set 9).
