BioChromix products are based on our two unique and patented probe sets, PolyVivo™ and Apolyon™ (learn more on the
technology page). BioChromix develops R&D assays for soluble Amyloid ß (Aß), in vitro
diagnostics and Imaging for Alzheimer's disease (AD). BioChromix systems shall provide superior performance and be optimized for use
with existing equipment. Current research suggests that the aggregated oligomeric Aß protein is central to the pathogenesis of AD.
BioChromix has developed unique LCP molecules that are used in our in vitro assays. The Company also develops diagnostics and imaging agents to visualize
the toxic oligomeric Aß aggregates that develop in AD.

Alzheimer's, Prion and Amyloid related diseases
Protein misfolding is associated with several devastating diseases, including Alzheimer's (AD) and Parkinson (PD) disease and the
Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathies (TSEs), the prion diseases; such as the Scrapie , Mad Cow disease (BSE) and the Creutzfeldt-Jacob
disease (CJD).

High affinity for the target is critical in this field and we have already been able to demonstrate an LCP affinity for oligomerized Aß
below the pico Molar (pM) range. This is orders of magnitude better than current molecular dyes such as the thioflavins, congo red and
curcumin which typically bind aggregated proteins in the nM-µM range. These molecular dyes also suffer from very limited possibilities
to add additional functionality since they have a limited set of available chemical groups. LCPs, on the other hand, offer vastly greater
ability to carry functional groups, which results in dramatically better properties. BioChromix have ELISA and magnetic bead based assays
already today.

In vitro Diagnostics and In vivo brain Imaging
BioChromix also develops in vitro diagnostics for AD and have selected its Lead targets for Imaging. Ante-mortem tests and imaging methods
targeting the disease specific biomarkers have the potential to set the correct diagnosis on a pre-dementia stage of the disease. Drug
Development for AD is today held back by the lack of functional assays for Cell Culture and to visualize the effect of a potential lead
candidate. BioChromix develop and design LCP compounds specific for Aß into non-invasive in vivo methods for monitoring treatment and
disease progression, drug development and diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease. Means of detection will be application optimized and include
SPECT, PET, MRI and NIR. Please contact BioChromix for more information about partnership or collaborations.

Fibril/Protofibril filter and Blood purification
This project is sponsored by Vinnova (News and press). The BioChromix LCP technology offers unique capabilities to
remove rouge, misfolded, proteins from fluids compared to traditional filtration. All blood products and the manufacture of plasma products,
carry the risk of transmission of misfolded proteins. The LCP technology gives an active removal of the misfolded form, far more selective
than traditional size discrimination. BioChromix develops devices for removal of misfolded proteins from fluids, both for safety and quality
reasons. BioChromix target product is a simple plug in filter for blood bags, image to the right (drawn), to reduce the risk of human
transmission of vCJD through transfusion of blood. Other target products include filters for BioPharma and for food safety removing fibrils
and gel-forming species.

Custom development
BioChromix PolyVivo and Apolyon probe sets are state-of-the-art detection technologies for studying many types of biomolecular interactions.
Protein-to-protein interactions can be studied, protein structures can be identified, prions or amyloids can be selectively stained, assays
for the detection of other specific biomolecules can be performed. Our probes are also suitable for Biochip solutions, which is currently
being developed. The versatility of BioChromix probes makes it possible for us to develop probes for a variety of tailor-made, optimized
assays within our product areas. BioChromix LCP technology can be utilized to functionalize a variety of materials. In close collaboration
with our customers, we can develop probes to meet the customer's specific needs. Please contact BioChromix for further information about
Custom Development (see also Partnership or Collaborations).
